1. an object, quality, or event whose presence or occurrence indicates the probable presence or occurrence of something else.
Here’s the thing about signs. When one occurs it does not mean it will be on the same day of the occurrence. It can happen on the same day but does not mean that it will happen on the same day. Whatever the “it” may be. Most signs are for a future event be it 7 days, 40 days, 7 years etc…The very apt explanation is the road sign. When one is on route to a final destination you see a series of signs showing you just how close you are getting to that destination. When you see your very first sign on a 100 mile journey it does not mean that right behind it you will have been 100 full miles when you only went 20 or so. It also does not negate the sign. AT ALL! The sign is STILL a sign.
I have deliberately stayed away from posting so many things about this eclipse and only shared some articles of interest so people can form their own opinions. But, I am pretty run down with all the jokes being made about fellow believers and especially by trusted teachers/pastors. It truly is heartbreaking to see. Making jokes and joshing with your brother and sister in fun is one thing but to do it for humiliation and to set yourself above them as if they are childish or a low level idiot is another. It not only shows an unloving attitude towards those they are supposed to care for but it also shows the unwillingness of those pastors to understand the Lord’s full use of his creation to help us understand what is on the horizon. There is a way to get your point across in a loving manor, especially if you are a pastor. It is truly disheartening.
Here’s the thing….The Lord still uses his creation for signs and for wonders. He says so himself. I will say this, I personally do think this is a sign for the United States of coming judgment. What or when that will be exactly I would not be dogmatic about. And I agree, we should not be dogmatic about dates or say “This is THE day” etc. Only the Lord knows the fine details. But, I think we have had our Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin. I also think that judgment could possibly occur around rapture time. Again, when that will be I have no solid idea but I do know it is soon now. Closer than it ever has been before. I would not be surprised if it happened this year at all. I favor the Pentecost season but if that passes I’ll look towards the fall and it that passes I’ll keep looking until the very day the trumpet sounds and the Lord calls us up. And, I’ll keep talking about it as well as looking. Why? Because the Lord tells us to watch.
I will never make fun of a brother or sister in Christ who is so excited for Jesus and the rapture. Their heart is in the RIGHT place! Some may make fun of them but I bet you that they have learned more things of the secret things of God than the stuffy teacher who refuses to let the Holy Spirit soften their heart to the spiritual things of the Lord. Things that will fully be revealed when we are all with him. I look forward to that day. The day when we can truly love each other the way we are supposed to and the day when we will all be on the same page and fully understand. The day when the mirror/glass is no longer dark. And I am so grateful that the Lord loves us all no matter what our personality type is and is forgiving when we are over zealous or over stuffy. But boy all the “joking” attacks and in fighting is so tedious when you, as with the heart of a child, are looking forward to that day. When all you want to do is just to keep and have your hope on the watch.
One day SOON, soon because we are in the signs already, it and he will come!

“And there will be SIGNS in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
Yes, and he knows the end from the beginning and he knows in advance what will happen and when and why he uses his creation for signs at certain times. Looking back in history and in various other texts besides his word reveals when eclipses happened at certain key times. It is not random and it is not ridiculous to see and realize that fact.
