I stumbled across this substack article and I wanted to make sure it got shared to more people. I agree with her assessment and she wrote it as encouragement and is NOT saying “thus saith the Lord” and she is NOT setting dates. This is just sound observation. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I copied the full article and posted it below BUT, you have GOT to check out the article at her substack site at the highlighted title link below because, she has AWESOME (and I mean they are really awesome!) links within the article for you to check out as well. You don’t want to miss those (they are underlined within her post)!! Now, here it is……
12 Reasons the Rapture *Could* Happen in 2026
The Approaching Prophetic Storm is Closer Than We Think
By: Tavie Petersen
Although the Rapture is a signless event, the evidence of the last days is everywhere. Even non-Christians recognize something strange is afoot. In fact, a recent Pew Research survey found that over one third of American adults believe we’re living in the end times, regardless of religious affiliation.
The Rapture is one of the most controversial subjects in Christianity, but I didn’t write this article to debate Rapture doctrine. Instead, my desire is to provide hope for those eagerly awaiting the return of Jesus. I believe the Bible teaches the Rapture will occur before the beginning of the seven-year Tribulation, and if I may be so bold, I believe 2026 could be the year for this incredible event.
Rest assured, I’m not setting dates—I’m just watching the signs as Jesus instructed us to do (Matthew 24:42-44). Even though Jesus said that no one knows the day or the hour of His return, He also scolded the religious leaders for failing to interpret the signs of His arrival (Matthew 24:36; Matthew 16:1-4). This article acknowledges the signs of the approaching storm, yet maintains the mystery of the day and the hour.
As I mentioned earlier, the Rapture itself is a signless event, but the Bible gives us clues about what the world will be like during the seven-year Tribulation. When the clues indicate the storm is on the horizon, it’s time to prepare for evacuation, because we know our salvation is near, “right at the door” (Matthew 24:33; Mark 13:29; Luke 21:31).
Listed below are 12 reasons why I believe the Rapture could happen this year.
#1 The Geopolitical Landscape
There are numerous passages in the Bible that prophesy the restoration of Israel in the last days; therefore, Israel is considered the super-sign of the end times and the prophetic clock. The prophecies about Israel and Jerusalem, the hour hand and the minute hand, were already fulfilled in 1948 and 1967 respectively. And the last-days Temple, the second hand, is prophesied to be completed sometime before the midpoint of the seven-year Tribulation (Daniel 9:27; 11:31; 12:11; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4; Revelation 11:1-2).
Given Israel’s preparations for construction of a new Temple and policy changes allowing increased Jewish presence and worship on the Temple Mount, the prophetic clock is only seconds away from midnight.
Furthermore, Ezekiel prophesies a coalition of nations, including Turkey, Russia, and Iran, will come against Israel in the latter days, and many prophecy scholars believe this war will take place after the Rapture (Ezekiel 38). As a result of established economic relationships and current conflicts, the geopolitical alliances necessary for the fulfillment of this prophecy are beginning to form. Iran and Russia have already created formal ties, and if NATO is dissolved, it will allow Turkey to join the coalition.
In the last days, the nations of the world will have such animosity toward Israel, it will be as if they’re drunk with hatred (Zechariah 12:2, NKJV; 14:2, NIV). Since October 7, 2023, many nations throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East have taken an arguably irrational stance against Israel through diplomatic, economic, or legal actions. Even in America, Israel’s ally, support for Israel is at a historic low, with 60% of adults holding an unfavorable view of the country.
#2 The 2030 Agenda
Bible prophecy predicts the existence of a one-world system of governance, commerce, and religion that will coalesce around the midpoint of the seven-year Tribulation (Daniel 2, 7; Revelation 13, 17). Various global organizations, such as the World Economic Forum, the World Health Organization, the United Nations, and even the Vatican, have been collaborating for decades in order to create this unified global system.
The effort began in the 1930s with the technocracy movement, which ironically, involved Elon Musk’s grandfather, Joshua N. Haldeman. Over the years, this movement has morphed into what is now known as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The vision of this agenda is to utilize advanced technology to establish international peace and security, universal digital access, an equitable global economy, and the alignment of global governments to a centralized mission. Essentially, these global organizations are building the structure for the one-world system of surveillance, governance, and commerce foretold in scripture, and as the name suggests, the goal is to have everything in place by 2030.
#3 Technology
Since the antichrist won’t be omniscient, he’ll need technology in order to surveil and control on a global scale, and we’re presently in the midst of a technological revolution. According to the latest estimates, AI capabilities are doubling every four to six months, and ASI (Artificial Superintelligence) is projected to be available as early as 2027.
In addition, over 130 countries have implemented some form of Digital Public Infrastructure (centralized digital IDs and biometric data), and 6G technology is on track to be commercially available by 2030.
If you’re unfamiliar with 6G, it will provide ultra-high speeds for near-instantaneous communication, integrated AI for network optimization, enhanced sensing (seeing around corners), and ubiquitous coverage. Simply put, 6G will make real-time global digital control possible, and there will be nowhere to hide.
Furthermore, wearable and implantable devices that can monitor health and body activity, interpret our thoughts, and communicate this information to the outside world are being successfully employed in clinical trials and beta testing. And curiously, the device being developed by Microsoft was assigned the patent number 666, which eerily alludes to the Mark of the Beast enforced by the antichrist at the midpoint of the seven-year Tribulation (Revelation 13:16-18).
For the first time in many millennia, we have the technology necessary for fulfilling the prophecy of the two witnesses (Revelation 11), the prophecy of the image of the beast (Revelation 13:14-15), and the prophecies of the global system of surveillance, governance, and commerce, otherwise known as the “Beast System” (Revelation 13).
#4 The Economic Landscape
Changing the economic landscape is part of the 2030 Agenda. The Bible foretells the existence of ten kings who will rule for a short period of time before giving their power to the antichrist (Daniel 7:23-24; Revelation 17:12-13).
According to Pastor Billy Crone, in the early 1970s, the Club of Rome developed a map that divided the world into ten different economic regions for the purpose of fostering sustainable development. Although it began with a conceptual map, this ten-region strategy is becoming a reality, and the process is much further along than most people realize—some of these regions already possess a common currency.
The organizations leading this ten-region crusade are waiting for (or trying to create) a global economic crisis, which will present an opportunity to implement a new “equitable” global economic system. The proposed economic recovery plan is called The Great Reset, and it was first introduced in 2020 as a response to the Covid pandemic.
Global recessions are often triggered by financial sector instability, pandemics, geopolitical conflicts, or energy price spikes. Are any of these things happening in the world today? The answer is, “All of them.” It’s also possible a global recession could be triggered by the Rapture, especially if multiple crises already exist.
#5 Deception
The last days will be marked by unimaginable deception. In Matthew 24:23-24, Jesus tells us that false messiahs and false prophets will perform “great signs and wonders, so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones” (NLT). And in 2 Thessalonians 2:10-11, we’re told the antichrist will use “all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders” in order to deceive, and that God will send a “powerful delusion” so people will believe the lie (NIV).
Is there deception today? The answer is a resounding, “YES!” With the availability of advanced technology, combined with social media, deception has gone viral. It’s nearly impossible to discern what’s real versus what’s fake.
Another element of last-days deception is alien disclosure. Christian UFO expert, L.A. Marzulli, believes the general public is being programmed to accept the alien narrative through something he calls, “The Rungs of Disclosure.” As we get closer to the time of the end, the degree of information disclosed about UFOs/UAPs will incrementally increase, like rungs on a ladder, so that when the Rapture happens, the disappearance of Christians can be indisputably blamed on these phenomena.
This probably sounds preposterous to most people, but it might be unwise to rule it out. After all, there’s a reason the Bible describes it as a “powerful delusion.”
I’m not sure what rung we’re on, but it looks like we’re near the top of the ladder. Not only is congress holding hearings about UFOs/UAPs and “non-human” entities, but the President has also announced a directive to release government files on “alien and extraterrestrial life.” In fact, it’s rumored the pronouncement is scheduled to take place on July 8, 2026, marking the 79th anniversary of the Roswell incident.
#6 The Moral Decay of Society
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. (2 Timothy 3:1-5, NIV)
Does this describe modern society? That’s another resounding, “YES!” All one needs to do is look around.
#7 The Moral Decay of the Church
Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead. (1 Timothy 4:1-2, NLT)
Again, all one needs to do is look around. Today, the Church is facing pervasive and insidious internal challenges, including abandonment of the faith, a departure from sound biblical doctrine, the influence of demons, and false teachers.
#8 World-Wide Antisemitism and Christian Persecution
According to USA Today, in 2024, antisemitism was at its highest level since the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) began tracking it in 1979. And according to the World Watch List 2024, in 2023, around 365 million Christians were subject to “high levels of persecution and discrimination,” which is equivalent to one in seven Christians world-wide.
In more recent news, a new report from Tel Aviv University reveals that more diaspora Jews were murdered in 2025 than in any other year in the previous three decades. And due to concerns about safety, Israel has been actively encouraging Aliyah (the immigration of Jews to Israel).
#9 The Millennial Day Theory
The Millennial Day Theory is based on an interpretation of Hosea’s two days of the Lord and Jesus’ two days in the tomb as a paradigm for a 2,000-year time frame (Hosea 6:2; Psalm 90:4; 2 Peter 3:8). If Bible scholars are correct and the death and resurrection of Jesus took place on Friday, April 3, 33 AD, we can postulate Jesus might return 2,000 years later in 2033.
Moreover, Bible scholars often argue that just as the spring feasts were fulfilled at Jesus’ first coming, the fall feasts will be literally fulfilled at His second coming, specifically on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). If we speculate the return of Jesus could happen on the Day of Atonement in 2033, which is Friday, September 30 (according to the Dead Sea Scroll calendar), and we subtract seven years for the Tribulation, then we could expect the Tribulation to begin in the fall of 2026.
As a side note, I used the Dead Sea Scroll calendar to identify the Day of Atonement in 2033 because I believe there’s precedent for its accuracy concerning the Jewish feast days compared to the modern Hebrew lunar calendar (more on this in the next section).
#10 The Dead Sea Scroll Calendar
The Dead Sea Scroll (DSS) calendar, also known as the original 364-day solar calendar, is part of the Dead Sea Scrolls, which remarkably, were discovered by a shepherd in 1947, the year before Israel was reborn as a nation. The calendar is based on a theological interpretation of the creation week from Genesis 1. It divides human history into three ages of 2,000 years each—the Age of Chaos, the Age of Torah, and the Church Age—for a total of 6,000 years, followed by a 1,000-year period, representing the seventh day or the Sabbath, commonly referred to as the Millennial Kingdom.
The Essenes, an ancient Jewish sect, continued using this 364-day solar calendar even after mainstream Judaism adopted a lunar system. They believed that God commanded this solar calendar to ensure all feasts and rituals were held on the correct days.
Utilizing their traditional calendar, combined with Old Testament writings, the Essenes were able to accurately predict, at least a century before His arrival, the birth and death of Jesus. This implies the ancient Essenes knew Jesus was the Messiah. Remember, most of the Jewish community of that day didn’t hold this belief, especially the religious leaders.
The calendar reveals Jesus’ first coming occurred during the first seven years of the final Jubilee (the final 50 years, 26 AD-76 AD) of the Age of Torah. On March 18, 2026, we entered the final Jubilee (the final 50 years, 2026-2076) of the Church Age, the last 2,000-year period before the Millennial Kingdom. Since prophecy is pattern, it’s plausible Jesus might return during the first seven years of the final Jubilee of our current age, which is 2026-2033.

#11 Prophetic Natural Signs
Jesus said that in the last days, there will be “great earthquakes” and “strange signs in the sun, moon, and stars,” and “the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides” (Luke 21:11, 25, NLT). Additionally, some of the judgements in the book of Revelation appear to describe the impact of asteroids and the eruption of supervolcanoes (Revelation 6, 8, 16).
Some prophecy scholars believe prophetic natural signs won’t be seen until after the beginning of the seven-year Tribulation. But others believe at least some of these signs will begin to appear during the prelude to what Jesus describes as a period of “greater anguish than at any time since the world began” (Matthew 24:21, NLT).
Have there been any anomalous earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, or signs in the heavens? It depends on who you ask. Nevertheless, there’s one natural sign that attracted quite a bit of attention a few years ago—the asteroid, Apophis. The asteroid was discovered by NASA in 2004, and was named after the ancient Egyptian god of chaos, darkness, and destruction, who oddly enough, was depicted as a serpent.
Apophis is forecast to swing by the earth in 2029, 2036, and 2068, but on Friday, April 13, 2029, the asteroid is expected to make its closest approach to earth, with its trajectory dipping below the orbit of our satellites. While NASA confirms Apophis will safely pass close to the earth, if there were a meaningful chance of impact, would they tell us?
Bible scholar, Dr. Tom Horn, believes the prophecies about the first four Trumpet judgements describe events that could be associated with this asteroid. If the seven-year Tribulation begins in the fall of 2026, and if the two witnesses prophesy during the first half of the Tribulation (Revelation 11), then the first four Trumpet judgements would happen before the midpoint of the Tribulation, which would be in the spring of 2030. If this is the case, then the 2029 visit of Apophis could fulfill these prophecies.
#12 End-Time/Rapture Dreams and Visions
“In the last days, God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams’.” (Acts 2:17, NLT; Joel 2:28)
This verse implies there will be an increase in dreams and visions in the last days, but since there’s no method of measurement, it’s difficult to prove. However, it’s recently been reported that a significant number of Iranians are having supernatural dreams and visions of Jesus. Consequently, evangelical Christianity is the fastest growing religion in Iran.
Conclusion
The current convergence of last-days prophetic signs is unprecedented in human history. Israel’s preparations for the construction of a new Temple foreshadow the beginning of the seven-year Tribulation, revolutionary technological advancements and the 2030 Agenda seem to indicate the midpoint of the Tribulation might occur in 2030, and the Millennial Day Theory and the Dead Sea Scroll calendar suggest Jesus could return in 2033.
Additionally, a sign in the heavens—the asteroid, Apophis—points to the possibility of the second or third Trumpet judgement being fulfilled in 2029. And finally, rampant deception, the condition of society and the church, and dreams and visions, all resemble the biblical descriptions of life in the last days.
Moreover, the convergence of signs is accelerating at an exponential rate. What does this mean? When growth is exponential, it compounds over time. If one were to depict this on a graph, the curve would be J-shaped, showing slow growth at first, but then turning upward sharply to become nearly vertical. This is akin to the metaphor of birth pains that Jesus used to describe the last days (Matthew 24:8). Like labor pains, end-time events will begin to unfold slowly, but then compound in frequency and intensity, until Jesus touches down on the Mount of Olives.
As all the puzzle pieces come together, the emerging picture appears to position the seven-year Tribulation to begin in the fall of 2026 and end on the Day of Atonement in 2033. Could this just be happenstance?
Since I’m not a statistician, I asked Google AI, “What are the odds of 12 independent, distinct signs randomly lining up to signal a specific event?”
This is the answer I received: “The odds of 12 independent, distinct signs randomly lining up to signal a specific event are astronomically low, often considered statistically impossible by chance alone. When dealing with multiple independent prophetic signs (e.g. 12 or more), the probability often becomes so low that it is essentially zero in terms of happenstance.”
Am I saying the Rapture will definitely happen in 2026? Absolutely not! But based on the convergence and acceleration of signs, it appears to be highly likely.
It’s been said, “When we begin to see Christmas decorations in stores, we know Thanksgiving is near.” To put it another way, if we can see the shadow of the seven-year Tribulation, then we know the Rapture is imminent. Even if life still feels relatively normal, Jesus warned us to be ready all the time, because He’s coming back at a time we don’t expect (Matthew 24:44).
Dear one, the clock is ticking. If you don’t know Jesus, turn to Him now, and accept the gift of salvation. Jesus is the only way to escape the approaching storm, and the storm is closer than we think.
“When people are saying, ‘Everything is peaceful and secure,’ then disaster will fall on them as suddenly as a pregnant woman’s labor pains begin. And there will be no escape” (1 Thessalonians 5:3, NLT).
